3D computer modelling is the cornerstone of all modern video game design, CGI, architecture and industrial 3D printing. As such, it is becoming an indispensable engineering tool.
Use a state of the art professional 3D modelling tool (Blender) to create your own 3D objects and characters. While the task might seem intimidating at first, our expert instructors will guide you through the process. You will learn how to take basic 3D shapes (from a vast library of options), combine them and then manipulate them into more complex shapes. You will then add surface textures and project light sources to bring your models to life.
Next, learn how to animate your models and create a short, animated film to save as a video file and impress your friends and family with! At the end of the week, we will 3D print your best model for you to keep as a memento.
Note that while Blender is a professional package, used to create many commercial products, it is also open-source, i.e. free to download and use, so you will be able to carry on using the package at home, building on the knowledge you have gained on the camp.
* Your 3D model will be printed after the course has finished and sent to you.
No prior knowledge of 3D modelling or coding is assumed.
Just a packed lunch and any drinks and snacks they will need to get them through the day (no nuts please!).
